The Al Ain Hospital in Abu Dhabi is a 30-year-old public acute care hospital with 425 beds and a staff of approximately 1,600 employees, including some 200 physicians. Every year, the hospital cares for 250,000 outpatients and 18,500 inpatients.
In June 2007, MUVI and its partner, VAMED, were assigned by the Health Authority of Abu Dhabi to establish priorities for the existing range of services in accordance with international standards. As a result, MUVI has provided classic modernization, re-structuring, expansion, and hospital management services. MUVI is also responsible for providing the Medical Director, Deputy Medical Director, and short- and mid-term medical experts. MUVI is currently collaborating with Al Ain Hospital to implement a plan to replace the existing hospital facility with a new 260,000 m2 hospital with nearly 700 beds (of which 150 beds are dedicated to rehabilitation) by 2014.
MUVI guided Al Ain Hospital to obtain their first JCI accreditation award in 2010. Al Ain Hospital was also acknowledged as the "best hospital in Abu Dhabi" in 2010, which is an especially impressive development as the Abu Dhabi provider market includes prestigious healthcare players such as Johns Hopkins University and Cleveland Clinic.
